I thought it was about time for a quick end of year update.
2009 Review:
Looking back at all my different projects this year I realise that I've not actually achieved very much! I only made 5 animations in 2009 compared to 13 in 2008. Bad Mr ShoePie!
My writing achievemts were a little better. I qualified for a BBC writing Masterclass with David Mitchell ahead of 900 other writers. I had a sketch produced by FunnyOrDie.co.uk, another sketch performed at Newsrevue and I also received some very nice feedback from a couple of people in the comedy industry. Good Mr ShoePie!
2010 Plans:
I am entering The Gunfighters into the South West's Preloader film festival. If it gets past the initial selection process it will be screened at the Arts Centre in Swindon in front of real life humans.
Newsjack starts again in January so I will have another go at writing topical radio comedy, hopefully I won't give up after two weeks and persevere a bit longer this time!
I am working on a series of parodies for up-and-coming film releases. The first one will be for Iron Man 2. My recent Avatar parody is getting some nice traffic on Youtube now (3000+ views) so who knows what it could have achieved if I'd released it more than 1 day ahead of the film opening?!
And Finally,
My big project for 2010 is that I want to produce an animated web series. I will attempt to make it something along the lines of Indiana Jones meets Wallace and Gromit where there's lots of comedy, adventure and cinematic action sequences. This will hopefully improve my film making and story telling skills. More about this when I've got some concrete plans.
But until then, thanks for watching my videos and reading this guff!
Happy New Year!
